{blog love} kara's party ideas

I started reading crafty/party blogs when my friend Tootie learned that she was having a little girl--probably around April/May of this year. It is amazing all the talented people out there in blogland! I started a blog just to show off all of the amazing things I find everyday. One of the first few blogs that I started reading was Kara's Party Ideas. I loved (& still love) the party features everyday--such inspiration. Kara is my {blog love} pick of the week.

Party Features:

I guess you can call Kara's "claim to fame" is her daily party features! She's a go-to source for great party inspiration because she showcases such a wide variety of different party themes.

Parties:

Not only does Kara feature great parties....She throws them as well! Isn't that fisherman centerpiece gorgeous! She definitely thinks of all the little details that help carry the theme throughout the party.

Cupcakes:

What's a party without cupcakes?!? Kara is also a cupcake extraordinaire! She has Kara's Cupcakes where she features her cupcake designs.

Go ahead and throw those fabulous parties & submit them to Kara! Maybe you'll be the next winning party feature & get some blog swag (a button) to feature on your blog!

Thanks Kara for being such a source of inspiration!

Enjoy!

{blog love} retropolitan

I found my new blog crush while I was perusing through Tatertots & Jello's Facebook page. Erika does a fabulous job of recreating things with a vintage & shabby chic vibe! She offers some a-maz-ing tutorials on her blog: Retropolitan. There is a fantastic, anthropoligie inspired lamp tutorial that she gives that I am in the process of re-creating, but I am not going to show it on here in case the soon-to-be recipient sees it! I will however show a few of my other favorite things!

How to make new crates look old. She has images of crates stacked to be bookcases. How perfect would that be in Grant's downtown loft apartment??? I love it.

Canvas drop cloths are a cheap fabric alternate, and look at the cute pillows (above & below) that you can make with just adding some paint and a stencil!

I looked at some twine balls the other day in the store and they wanted $9.99 a piece. I don't think so! I am glad that there is a tutorial so I can make my own!!!

Enjoy!

{blog love} whipperberry

Side Note: Every Wednesday (I know I am a day late--I've been a tad busy this week!) I have decided that I am going to feature my current blog crush!

I stumbled across Whipperberry a few weeks ago & have been in love ever since! There is no craft-tastic subject they don't accomplish in their blog: events, food, and tutorials!

Here are a few of my favorite things:

Shabby Chic Fabric Chandelier

Have I mentioned how much I love embroidery hoops & fabric??? Is this not the CUTEST chandelier ever? Whipperberry provides a great tutorial on how to make this fab fixture. This is the tutorial that made be have blog-love for Whipperberry--btw!

Cupcake Skewers: Pumpkin Spice

Things I love about Fall: cinnamon-y, warm-y goodness found in a lot of foods. I bring up how much I love carrot and spice cake ALL of the time, and I love that fall is such a popular time for spice cake. YUM YUM YUM. Are these not too cute? It looks like they have little cream cheese berets. I like that its similar to a cake pop, but doesn't have a chocolate coating--that makes these skewers healthy right? I might just have to make these cuties!

Blessing Board

Whipperberry guest posted about a week ago at Tatertots and Jello a FABULOUS tutorial on how to make this GREAT blessing board. This is definitely getting added to the "to be crafted" list! Those fabulous flowers are made out of sweaters & of course there is a tutorial to show you how to make them! I am feeling the need for a stop by the Goodwill for some sweaters to be repurposed into flowers!

This is just a sample of all the wonderful things to be found at Whipperberry by the oh-so-crafty Whipperchicks!
