{party envy} sundae baby shower

I really enjoyed this Ice Cream Sundae baby shower by Jordan @ Polka Dot Prints featured via Bump Smitten.

The touches of natural and baby elements in the printed goods & decor definitely made this party summery & sweet!



The dessert table included lots & lots of toppings: cookie dough, marshmallows, nuts, and sprinkles - to name a few! Love the styling of the sprinkles in brown paper bags and presented in an Asian steamer.




I really like that the invitation has different images/patterns in each letter of baby shower - very whimsical & fun. The labels are attached with mini clothespins; a great touch for a baby shower.




Love the pink lemonade in glass bottles along with the wooden spoons. I'm really digging the galvanized touches to this party as well!

This frozen treat of a baby shower is delicious eye candy!

Here's another beautiful school themed shower that I found featured by One Charming Party.



The invitation is modeled after a vintage flashcard, darling! The snippets to the right are FREE printables that you can use to throw your own school themed party.





The pretty pastel color scheme works so well with all of the classic books and shabby chic fabrics. The flashcard bunting is soooo cute.




Vintage school cards are held up by flower frogs to label the vegan party spread.




What a simple touch that just adds so much! I heart the baby pencil :)

{party envy} A+ teacher baby shower

Staying with the teacher theme, this baby shower by Whitney @ The Smith Family gets an A+!



The mom-to-be is a teacher and Whitney played off of that to create a breath taking baby shower.

**This party was one of my first blog finds when I discovered the wonderul world of blogs last year**



Lunch consisted of salad, tomato bisque, and chicken salad sandwiches served true cafeteria style. The guests ate off cafeteria lunch trays - what a great touch!

Love Whitney's homemade bottle wraps and rickrack runner.




After a full day of school, everyone needs an after-school snack! Chalkboards were used to list out the goodies, and I really like that the snack included childhood classics such as PB&J and cookies.

PS - I hate using my handwriting as well! Chalkboards were waay worth it!



Covered books were stamped with different subjects and stacked as part of the party decor.



Favors: paper lunch snacks filled with hot tamales and a note from "mom"!

{party envy} parisian baby shower

I want everyone to make sure they are sitting down before they look at these TO DIE FOR baby shower pictures. If you are reading this on your phone while driving (which I may or may not do from time to time...), please wait till you're at least at a red light. For those of you that may have seen this baby shower when it was originally posted back in May @ The Hostess With The Mostess, it is now time to enjoy it again! I fell in love with it back then and stumbled across it again recently. I decided to feature it since I have a blog now :)

Do you see this ceiling?!? Canvas and Canopy and Alchemy Fine Events are the master minds behind this very fine event. Playing off the word "shower", they hung parasols and vintage umbrellas at different heights to create drama. They also had strings of crystals to simulate rain drops. Sigh, sheer beauty.....


Here's the tablescape of the gorgeous dessert buffet. The color scheme included a pale pink, baby blue and onyx palette for baby girl on her way along with a Parisian circus theme to infuse the French influence of New Orleans.

Oo La La. . . Parisian patisserie. The desserts were placed on crystal & glass that let the pastel color palette really shine & added some glamour!

Here's a close up of more vintage desserts & the darling tags. I love the pop of black & white striped ribbon, very french! Tag love: 1. The words: Patisserie Tickets & 2. Great font!

Here's a closeup of some of the party decor. You can definitely win me over featuring elephants! My favorite animal--BTW. Anemones, peonies, and ranunculus were put to beautiful use in the centerpieces and bouquets around the room.

Isn't he amazing?!? He greated guests at the door. That is definitely a GREAT, unexpected touch.


I also want to gush about a great new resource I found through this party: Bella Umbrella. They have the largest selection of original vintage umbrellas from the 1930’s – 1960’s.

These are definitely going on my wedding wish list!

{party envy} chic, gender neutral baby shower

This party that I found on Sara's Party Perfect is a chic, gender neutral baby shower. It is BEAUTIFUL! I am not one for tacky baby decor, and this party is stunning & so "pottery barn-esque"! I love the subtle accents of the containers. #1 & #2 are beside silhouettes of their 1st & 2nd children. Such a great, subtle detail!

Sandy did a wonderful job putting together this baby shower. She handmade the decor! The baby clothes, pillows, and bunting! Hat's off to you for all this fantastic detail. She throws A LOT of amazing parties. Check out her blog for more inspiration!

{real party} birds, blossoms, & butterflies baby shower

This baby shower was for my very best friend Tootie & her soon-to-be-here, baby girl Madi Beth! {she graced us with her fabulous, princess presence on September 14th, 2010}

Planning for her shower is what started my obsession with all things party related! I had a great time getting everything together for this shower & look forward to the parties to come!

The tablescape. The paper flowers were a hit with everyone, especially the owner's of the oh-so-cute restaurant, "Just for Lunch".



Close up of the back of the chairs. The fabric was the main inspiration source for the party. It included all of the colors of the new baby room, and was very chic without being to baby-ish.



This is a banner I made out of felt & fabric for the party & was also a great take home gift for the mom!

This is a little card I made on the quick the night before. It listed all of the addresses of the guests on the inside & I used it as her gift log as well. A great resource for the mom-to-be when thank you card time rolls around!

Last but not least, the mom-to-be & me! I am so blessed to have Tootie as a friend & especially getting the opportunity be a part of her life's special moments. We have been on such a great journey together, and have so many titles for one another: sorority sisters, past roomies, maid of honor, and most of all--best friend.
